“Spicules are small needle-like anatomical structures found in sponges. The meshing of many spicules serves as the sponge’s skeleton and thus it provides structural support and defense against predators.”

Spicule is a pointy display serif that seems to cut and lacerate. It basically functions in the same way as spicules do in sponges.

The meshing of all the letters provide a visual and structural support for it’s written message, while it’s pointy edges defend it’s content against outside aggression.
